Safe Sex: Asking your lover to use a condom

Safe sex is not just for teenagers it is for people of all ages. AIDS is on
the rise in the senior community.  It is important for women and men to be
aware of this important health issue.  Too many times women have asked their male lovers to wear a condom.

Here are some excuses men have given to women why they should not wear a condom:

1." I can lose my erection if I have to put one on."
2. "There is less sensation when I wear a condom."
3. " I don't need one because I have always been in a monogamous
relationship before I met you."
4. "What's wrong, don't you trust me?"
5. "I can't enjoy sex wearing a rubber."
6. "Putting a condom on will interrupt our love making."
7."They're messy and there is no friction."
8. "We don't need it you're too old to get pregnant."
9.  ‘Trust me."
10. "I used them when I was in the service why should I use them now."

The topic of using a condom while making love can be very difficult to
discuss with your lover. Many women are afraid if they insist upon their
lover to wear a condom they will leave. Women have to learn to take charge of their body and their sexual lives. You can have a very high self esteem and feel good about yourself, but somehow when it comes to asking some men to wear a condom we lose our power.  We allow him to give us the excuses and we accept them and than worry after. It is the same concept when we were young not to use precautions for getting pregnant.  It won't happen to me: than a child was born nine months later.

Communication is the key to get your lover to use a condom.  Make it fun.
Some women are embarrassed to buy condoms.  Buying some condoms is acceptable practice. Drugstores have them in the front of the counters (You don't even have to ask.)  They come in all sizes, colors, textures and taste. Carry them with you if you are going to make love outside of your home.  Or have them close to where you are going to make love.  Ask your lover if they have children and how would he feel if they have unsafe sex.

Explain that AIDS is on the rise in the senior community and it is important to you if he wears a condom.  Explain that there are exciting ways that you can still stimulate him to keep his erection.  Most of all talk about the issues; do not quarrel about it.

Here is an interesting thought.  If someone asks you to have unsafe sex, it means he isn't worrying about how you feel or how you will feel the next day.
